This one is quite different from a traditional coffin top.

Most coffin arrangements are widest through the centre and taper away at both ends. The Elegant Teardrop is shaped differently: it is fuller and rounded at one end, then the flowers flow naturally in one direction, gradually narrowing into a long, fine point.

That movement is what makes the design special. Rather than flowers spreading out from a central point, everything runs through the arrangement in the same direction, giving it a softer, more natural feel.

It sits across the wider part of the coffin and trails down beautifully. We particularly like this style on solid wood coffins, where the flowing flowers soften the overall look, but it also works beautifully with wicker coffins because the natural movement of the design sits so well with the texture of the coffin.

The colour palette is rich but still soft and feminine, using reds, pinks and purples together. Red roses and spray roses are always an important part of the design, along with clematis, lisianthus and red hypericum.

Around those flowers, we choose seasonal stems that work naturally with the colour palette and the shape of the arrangement. That means each piece has its own character rather than being copied flower-for-flower from the photograph.

If you would like something a little different from the traditional coffin top, but still elegant and appropriate for the funeral, this is a lovely option.

The photograph shows an arrangement we have genuinely made here at Townend Florist. We photograph our funeral flowers themselves rather than photographing them on a coffin, as we feel that is more respectful to the families we work with.

Available from 3ft to 5ft. We deliberately stop this design at 5ft because the teardrop shape needs to keep its balance and proportion.
