CREATE YOUR OWN NATURAL MOSS FUNERAL LETTERS

Our natural moss funeral letters are a little different from classic white chrysanthemum lettering. The moss is deliberately left exposed and becomes part of the design, with fresh flowers and foliage arranged through each letter to create something natural, textured and individual.

The photograph shown is there as inspiration rather than a fixed flower recipe. We’ve created moss lettering in different words and colour combinations over the years, although not every tribute makes it in front of the camera before it leaves our shop.

The moss will always remain an important part of the finished design. We leave plenty of it visible, then add carefully placed flower clusters where they have the most impact.

Roses are usually used as focal flowers, with smaller seasonal flowers, berries, foliage and natural textures chosen by our florists to complement your selected colours and keep the finished letters balanced without covering the moss.

We’ve thought about the materials as much as the flowers. The moss is natural, the floral foam base we use is biodegradable and the plastic element can be recycled, while still giving the flowers the support and water source they need.

You can choose your preferred flower cluster colour when ordering. If you have a favourite flower, colour or something else you would like us to take inspiration from, tell us a little about it and we’ll use our judgement as florists to work it into the design where it suits.

The exact flowers may vary depending on the season and what is looking particularly good when we are buying for your order. If you request something that is unavailable, unsuitable for the design or would change the price, we’ll contact you before making any changes.

Each letter is approximately 12" high.

For longer words, we may create the tribute in more than one section. We work closely with funeral directors and understand how funeral flowers are transported, handled and positioned throughout the day, so longer lettering is made in a way that can be moved with care and dignity.

Every natural moss letter tribute is individually handmade by the florists at Townend Florist in Sheffield, so no two will ever be exactly the same.
