Bold Yellow Coffin Top

This one is all about yellow.

It’s a big, bold coffin top filled with yellow roses, sunflowers and a changing mix of seasonal yellow flowers. Depending on the time of year, we may use yellow chrysanthemums, germini and other flowers that give the design the same strong colour and impact.

The yellow roses and sunflowers are always part of the design. Around them, we choose seasonal flowers that are looking their best at the time, so the exact mix can change through the year without changing the overall look.

Among all that yellow, we add touches of tiny white flowers. They aren’t there to turn it into a yellow and white arrangement — they give the larger yellow flowers some breathing space, helping the roses, sunflowers and other blooms stand out individually rather than everything merging into one solid block of colour.

It’s a particularly good choice when yellow itself means something. Sometimes that’s simply because it was somebody’s favourite colour; sometimes particular yellow flowers — roses, sunflowers or chrysanthemums — bring back memories of them.

The photograph shows the overall style, colour and fullness of the design. Seasonal flowers may change, but the bold yellow look, yellow roses and sunflowers will remain.

Available from 3ft to 6ft, with larger sizes made fuller to keep the scale and impact of the design.
